Manthoka is the largest waterfall in Baltistan — a broad, loud drop of roughly 180 feet in Kharmang district, reached on the road that eventually runs towards Kargil and the Line of Control.
A walkway and viewing platforms have been built out towards the spray, and the surrounding grove is set up for picnics with charpoys and food stalls in summer.
Flow is heaviest from late May through July when the snowmelt peaks. By late September the fall narrows considerably.
